Is there an application fee?

No, there is no application fee to join Maharaja Chef Services. Our platform is free for qualified chefs to join. We only take a small service fee from completed bookings.

What documents do I need to provide?

You'll need to provide proof of culinary education/training, food safety certification, professional references, identification documents for background check, and proof of insurance if applicable.

Can I work part-time with Maharaja Chef Services?

Yes! Many of our chefs work part-time and set their own availability. You can choose to accept bookings that fit your schedule, whether that's weekends only, evenings, or specific days of the week.

How do I receive booking requests?

Booking requests come through our platform based on your availability, location, and cuisine specialty. You'll receive notifications via email and our chef app. You can accept or decline requests based on your schedule.

What types of services can I offer?

You can offer various services including private dinner parties, weekly meal preparation, cooking classes, catering for special events, cattering events, holiday meals, and more. You set your service offerings based on your expertise.

How far in advance are bookings typically made?

Bookings vary widely. Some clients book weeks or months in advance for special events, while others may book last-minute for dinner parties or meal prep. The average booking is made 1-3 weeks in advance.

What if I need to cancel a booking?

We understand that emergencies happen. If you need to cancel, notify us and the client immediately. Our cancellation policy applies, and we'll work to find a replacement chef. The sooner you notify us, the better.

Can I bring an assistant or sous chef?

Yes, you can bring assistants, but they must be approved by Maharaja Chef Services and meet our professional standards. Additional staff may require client approval and could affect pricing.

Payment & Earnings

How much can I earn as a Maharaja Chef?

Earnings vary based on your experience, cuisine specialty, location, and service type. On average, chefs earn $50-$150 per hour, with private events typically paying $1000-$5000+ depending on the scope and guest count.

How are payments processed?

Clients pay through our secure platform. After service completion and client confirmation, funds are processed and transferred to your account within 3-5 business days. You'll receive detailed invoices for each service.

What is the service fee structure?

We take a competitive service fee of 15-20% from each booking, which covers platform maintenance, marketing, client acquisition, and support services. The exact percentage depends on your chef tier and service type.

When do I get paid?

Payments are processed after service completion and client confirmation. Funds are typically transferred to your account within 3-5 business days. For recurring services, payments are processed after each service.

How do I handle tips?

Tips are entirely at the client's discretion. Clients can add tips through our platform, or you can accept cash tips directly. All tips are yours to keep - we don't take any percentage from gratuities.

Equipment & Preparation

What equipment do I need to bring?

You're responsible for bringing all professional cooking equipment, including knives, cookware, utensils, and specialty tools. We provide a comprehensive equipment checklist in our guidelines. Some clients may have basic kitchen equipment you can use.

Who provides the ingredients?

Ingredients are typically provided by the chef and included in your service fee. Some clients may prefer to provide specific ingredients or have dietary preferences that require special sourcing. This should be discussed during the consultation.

How do I handle client dietary restrictions?

Dietary restrictions are discussed during the pre-service consultation. You're responsible for understanding and accommodating all restrictions. Always double-check with clients and be prepared to provide ingredient lists if requested.

What if the client's kitchen isn't adequately equipped?
